At this writing, I do not remember what we did on May Day 2011! We moved to Istanbul that summer.

On May Day 2012, Taksim was open. With friends visiting from the UK, we joined the march from Mecidiyeköy.
At the moment though, the only photographs from that event that I have posted are in my blog article about May Day 2014.
That year, Taksim was closed. Its closure in 2013 probably precipitated or exacerbated the later Gezi Park protests.
