Rest stops on the road were not so elaborate as in Turkey. I was interested at this one to see both Zoroastrian and Shiite decorations on the wall.

But this mosque was closed. We found a ruined mosque nearby, which turned out to be behind the Shah Cheragh; but we were not allowed to pass through the latter (I had a camera; the women had no chador).

al-Mulk mosque
In the evening, the mosque was open, as our hotel manager said it would be. He was also telling us about our appointment with the police the next day, because the police didn't think I was authorized to travel outside of Tabriz.
