17I assume there was an accomplice, who owned the car. Tim had no driving license. He had said it was because he had never bothered to get one; and I had been naïve enough to believe this. Later in the day when Tim stole the marijuana, Hal turned up with an accomplice. He said he just wanted to show his friend the old place. The tour must have included the edge of the field where Karen had found Norman's marijuana plants growing. So Hal was too late, unless the plants taken by Tim had been harvested somewhere else. I did not tell Hal about Tim's earlier visit.
