Au lieu de dé-penser: pensez! (Instead of spending, think!)
It is a slogan I learned of in Le Monde diplomatique (Mai 2004, p. 3), in an article called “L'«antipub», un marché porteur.” The slogan is said to be one of many painted on advertising posters in the Paris metro on 17 October 2003.
I had remembered the slogan as being in the familiar second person (pense instead of pensez), but the article gives the plural or polite form.
